RecAPI on Linux

Nuance OmniPage Capture SDK 20 is designed also for use on Linux operating systems. However, only partial functionality is available on Linux. Please see the documentation of each module for detailed information.

In addition, licensing and distributing also differ from the implementation used on Windows. For more information, please see the General Information topic.

The following list names the folders where the different parts of the CSDK are installed.

  • /usr/local/lib/nuance-omnipage-csdk-20.0 - .so files, other binaries.
  • /usr/local/share/doc/nuance-omnipage-csdk-20.0 - documentation in HTML.
  • /usr/local/src/nuance-omnipage-csdk-20.0 - files of the sample project.
  • /usr/local/include/nuance-omnipage-csdk-20.0 - include files.
  • /usr/local/bin - OP License Manager application (oplicmgr).

Normal (non-image-only) PDF input

Loading normal PDF files, the generated image and thus the recognition result may be better if one of the following font packages is installed:

  • msttcorefonts (windows essential fonts pack, it may have different names on different Linux distributions),
  • liberation-fonts (on Red Hat distributions).
